how do I book a session?
Ready to book? The best way to contact Tracy Allyn Photography is through the contact page on this site. You can also email photos@tracyallyn.com or call 214.682.3965 to discuss potential session dates and your session needs. Payment of the session fee and your signed portrait agreement reserves your date. Once we talk about the session your preferred date can be placed on a 24-hour hold to allow time to confirm your booking online with your paid session fee.
how far out can I book?
Sessions usually book at least 4-6 weeks in advance and may fill even more quickly during fall and spring seasons. Please contact the studio as soon as possible to schedule if you have a specific date in mind. Appointments can be made up to a year out from your preferred date. For architectural photography, please allow time to schedule with the site and approximately 3 weeks after the shoot takes place for final image delivery.
where will our session be?
We can shoot almost anywhere we can dream up in the area, such as green or dried grass fields, gardens, edgy urban areas, lakes, parks, fairs, arts districts, and more. Take a look through the portfolio and you will see a variety that may spark an idea. During our pre-session consultation, we will discuss your style and what direction you would like your session to go. If you have an idea, let's talk about it where you want to shoot in Dallas. Tracy is also available for state, national, and international travel and can provide pricing for your spectacular destination session. Most local sessions involve no additional fees. However, any location selected that requires a permit, fee, or membership will be paid by the client and should be scheduled at least 4 weeks in advance with the venue to allow time for the permit process. You may also select our home-based studio for your session.
what do you photograph?
Currently, Tracy photographs portraits, architecture, and corporate headshots. Portrait subjects include babies beginning at 3 months, children, tweens & teens, high school seniors, and adults in any stage of life. All of these can be individually photographed or as familial groups. Architecture can include exteriors, interiors, or both, depending on project needs.
when should we schedule?
Whenever works best for you. Springtime flowers, a summer day, colorful fall leaves, or a cool winter tree session... All are incredible in Texas. Tracy shoots year-round with outdoor sessions beginning one hour after sunrise or about two hours before sunset. For babies and young children, it is best to consider which of these times of day they are at their happiest. We love seeing families each year, especially when children are young. They just change so much! All ages are great to photograph and sometimes it is really fun to capture them at milestones... Such as beginning school, braces either before/after, the tween years, teenage years like sweet 16 or first car, high school or college seniors, and beyond college.
when will proofs be ready?
After your session, all of the best images from the session will be selected and general color and exposure edits will be applied to your images. Your in-studio or online gallery reveal of proofs will be ready 2 weeks after your session.
do you retouch images?
Any image ordered will be fully retouched personally with Tracy's signature style. Regardless of whether your shoot was a portrait, corporate, or architecture, all delivered images will be professionally edited and portraits retouched. Proofs will have general exposure and white balance/color edits.
how do we order?
Orders may be placed at an in-studio ordering session or online directly through your proof viewing gallery. Ordering in the studio is the perfect chance for you to see samples of canvases, albums, and print paper options in person. We will discuss sizes and select the best images for your products. For ordering sessions, please make sure all decision-makers will be present. Your gallery will also remain active online for two weeks from the date of posting during which any other orders should be placed.
what products do you offer?
Clients absolutely love the quality and variety offered. Portrait prints come in your choice of linen (favorite!), luster, or metallic paper with all prints mounted and ready to frame. Leather or linen cover albums, gallery wrapped canvases, and fine art acrylics are all very popular with clients. Digital file options are available for purchase as well.
when will my order be ready?
Most prints and products will be ready for delivery or pickup within 3 weeks from the time full payment is received for your order. This includes prints, canvases, acrylics, framed prints, and cards. Custom-designed albums may take an additional 1-2 weeks due to design and production time, especially during busy fall or springtimes.
what should I expect to invest?
Most portrait clients invest between $1000 - $2000 for their art. There is a minimum print/product purchase of $500 for all portrait sessions. Please view the prints & products page under the info tab for general pricing or beginning pricing on prints, canvases, and albums. Full pricing is available upon request.
do you offer mini-sessions?
At this time, Tracy Allyn Photography does not offer mini-sessions or holiday/announcement card only sessions. By offering full portrait sessions we can maximize the shooting schedule and give clients a complete professional experience for their custom portraits.
will sales tax be added?
Yes, 8.25% state and local sales tax is applied to all portrait orders and session fees as well as corporate and architectural shoots.
how is payment accepted?
Tracy Allyn Photography accepts Mastercard, Visa, checks, and cash. Payment is due at the time of ordering, with prints and products ready for delivery approximately 3 weeks after payment in full. For orders that exceed the minimum, a payment plan can be arranged if desired. There is a $50 fee for any returned checks.
do you offer digital files?
We happily include a watermarked web resolution companion file of each image that is purchased as a print or product upon reaching your minimum order requirement. While these are not to be printed from, this is a great way to show off your favorite images from your session with Tracy Allyn Photography on Facebook or other social media. When potential clients inquire about digital files, usually they are talking about showing the images online.
As a boutique studio that provides custom portraits as prints, canvases, and albums for your home, Tracy wishes for her clients to display their portraits on walls so they smile every time they walk by them and are proud every time a guest in their home sees them. We prefer to control the quality by providing clients with beautiful images from the best professional labs. We also find that clients who only purchase digital files only usually do not print their images and often forget about them on their computer. Because of this belief, Tracy offers print resolution digital images for sale, but clients are encouraged to order prints or products rather than digital-only.
will I own rights to images?
As the photographer, Tracy Allyn Photography and Tracy Allyn Croysdale retains all image copyright ownership/rights and reserves the right to use the images for business promotion, such as on websites, our blog, social network sites, and business materials unless otherwise specified by the client in writing at the time of booking your session. All images are protected by Federal Copyright Law, which prohibits copying, downloading, selling, scanning, or other illegal usages of images produced by Tracy Allyn Photography. Law also specifies that clients may not alter the look of an image by software on computer or mobile app, including social media filters. All images must stay true to the photographer's artistic style.
what if we need to reschedule?
If someone in the portrait group is sick or your child is exceptionally not themselves, please consider rescheduling your session. All outdoor sessions are dependent on the weather that provides enough light and are rescheduled at discretion of the photographer. A little overcast day works... Dark, ominous rain clouds and huge gusting winds not so much! The session is still on until you hear otherwise. Generally, we do a weather check the day before and day of if needed. We can always adjust! If we do have to reschedule we will find the next soonest available session that works for your schedule. Session fees are non-refundable but may be applied to any future session for up to six months from the originally scheduled date.
can I bring my own camera?
Please respect that Tracy's camera must be the only camera at the session. This policy includes cell phone cameras and video as well. Other cameras distract both subjects and the photographer. Please trust that it is Tracy Allyn Photography's job to get a variety of great images during our shoot. So all you have to do is keep your camera/phone put away and enjoy the moment.
what is the return policy?
If something isn't right in your order, contact the studio as soon as possible and we will make sure you receive the correct item in a timely way so you can love your images. Due to the custom nature of photography, all sales are final for session fees, prints, and products.
